Is laser hair removal permanent?
Certainly it is permanent. Studies have shown that after an average of 4 treatments most clients will no longer require additional treatment.
This is one of the key benefits to getting this procedure done because in most cases, it is a onetime process. For those that use shaving to remove hair, this is a key benefit, as you do not have to deal with stubble that keeps growing back and that you have to remove more and more frequently.

Does it hurt?
The new Motif LHR is a revolutionary new technology that finally allows a pain free hair removal treatment. This is a no-downtime procedure. Patients can return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

What areas can be treated?
Treated unwanted hair on all body areas including: upper lip, cheeks, chin, neck, chest, stomach, arms, shoulders, bikini area, legs and back.

How old shall I have to start a laser hair removal treatment ?
There really is no age limit, but we never treat toddlers. Young people that are not

finished growing will develop new hair as they grow, and will require touch ups to maintain the results. We currently do not treat children under the age of 15.

Why do I need multiple sessions?

Laser hair removal requires multiple sessions in order to achieve desired clearance. This is based primarily on biological factors – the cycle of hair growth. We recommend a protocol of five laser hair removal sessions in order to achieve clearance in the treated area.

What Are the Hair Growth Cycles?
Hair growth in each hair follicle occurs in a cycle. There are three main phases of the hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen and Telogen.

Anagen (active): is the growing phase or when the hair fiber is produced.

Catagen( clubhair): is the period of controlled regression of the hair follicle. This phase is when the lower part of the hair stops growing, but does not shed, and the follicle is reabsorbed.

Telogen (tired): is the last of the hair growth cycle. In this resting phase, the old hair falls out in preparation for the development of a new anagen hair.

Normally this cycle of hair production will continue for the duration of the individual's life. However, various factors

can influence, promote and inhibit hair production.

Is there anything I should avoid before and during treatment courses?

A suntan can put your skin at risk and will make the laser treatment less effective we recommend avoiding the sun and sun beds.

Do not apply aggravating creams to the skin before or during the course of treatment. This includes Glycolic Acid (AHA creams) and Retin-A cream.

Laser Hair Removal as a Treatment for Ingrown Hair?
When a person shaves or waxes their hair, the broken off or short embedded hair that remains can get trapped inside the hair follicle and grow sideways or can grow back into the skin. This ingrown hair may or may not be accompanied by an infection of the hair follicle or razor bumps and can be painful. Ingrown hair most commonly appears on the face, legs, and bikini line, but can appear anywhere. Sometimes ingrown hair occurs naturally without shaving, as blocked pores, too much dead skin, or tight clothing prevent hair from emerging from the follicle.
Laser hair removal can eliminate ingrown hair, leaving your skin smooth and hair-free for longer and even indefinite periods of time. During laser hair removal, the laser beam targets the hair follicles deep beneath the skin, disabling the root and stops any re-growth from that follicle. Since the entire hair follicle is destroyed, you do not have to worry about ingrown hairs. Laser hair removal can be performed on almost any part of the body and will make hair lighter, finer, and prevent ingrown hairs.

IPL is a Laser ?
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) machines are not lasers. These machines use a highly concentrated beam of traditional incoherent light, often in conjunction with a cream or gel, to burn the hair shaft. A serious flaw with these systems is that they lack the laser's ability to produce a selective bandwidth of light that will only affect the hair shaft (selective photothermolysis). IPLs produce a wide bandwidth of light that can heat up all of the surrounding tissue, making it less effective in disabling hair and putting the patient at a higher risk for burns, especially on darker skin.
